Paweł Płoskoń is a hurdy-gurdy player, composer, and conductor. He bridges tradition and modernity, creating his own distinctive musical language for the hurdy-gurdy. He experiments with the sound of this historical instrument, bringing it into the realms of contemporary improvisation, traditional music, and new concert forms.
He graduated from the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, where he studied composition and arrangement in the Jazz and Stage Music Department. Since 2020, he has also been the first academic teacher of the hurdy-gurdy in Poland, teaching at his alma mater as part of the Postgraduate Program in Traditional Music.
Alongside his instrumental work, he develops his career as a composer and choral conductor, specializing in sacred music. His liturgical works are performed by choirs across Poland, and as a conductor, he works with ensembles for whom singing is both an art form and a form of prayer.
